L'Academy
The A.I.TE.M. Academy provides training on cutting-edge manufacturing systems and technologies topics, availing itself of professors and researchers from all the Italian universities.
The A.I.TE.M. Academy offers high-level training on diverse topics, in order to meet any training needs of the manufacturing sector, availing itself of a quality assurance system and the possibility of providing training all over Italy.
As a matter of fact, A.I.TE.M. can count on the widest national network of laboratories as well as an association extending all over Italy.
Training is essential to keep up with a fast-evolving sector and to rapidly gain knowledge on new manufacturing technologies, hardware, and software. This is why the A.I.TE.M. Academy offers training courses aimed particularly at the industrial world, fully in line with A.I.TE.M.’s mission to serve as a bridge between the academic world and the industrial world.
The A.I.TE.M. Academy organises three types of courses:
- Basic training
- Specialised training in universities
- Specialised training in companies
Basic training
The basic training courses focus on innovative and key contents of the manufacturing sector. They aim at providing, over two days, a comprehensive overview of the latest innovations in manufacturing systems and technologies.
Every year, in September, the A.I.TE.M. Academy organises a basic training course in a different A.I.TE.M. university. The programme also includes taking part to some of the plenary sessions of Conferences or Workshops organised by A.I.TE.M. in the same days and in the same university, in order to give trainees the opportunity to get in contact with the entire Italian manufacturing scientific community.
Trainers are professors and researchers of Italian universities from A.I.TE.M.’S Sections and Groups, representing the Association’s bridge between the academic world and the industrial world.
The courses are open to companies, which will be able to acquire adequate knowledge on the latest innovations in the manufacturing sector and to come closer to the Association, taking inspiration for possible collaborations on key manufacturing aspects.
The courses are also open to young researchers and industry experts. By participating to the course, they will be able to gain more awareness of the cultural identity of the sector, examine in depth themes that are not linked with their specific research activity, and fruitfully exchange information and experiences with colleagues from similar careers.
Specialised training in universities
The specialised training courses focus on a specific manufacturing topic that is particularly relevant to industry. They aim at presenting the theoretical basis of and, above all, the solutions to the main application issues.
Each two-day, live or online, course takes place in a university able to offer recognised and consolidated skills relevant to the specific topic.
Specialised training courses are designed for company personnel, who will be able to gain in-depth knowledge of the specific topic and come closer to the Association, drawing inspiration for possible collaborations on key manufacturing topics.
Courses are also open to PHD students and temporary research fellows. Their number must not exceed 1/3 of the total participants.
The maximum number of participants is 20. They are accepted in order of registration.
Specialised training in companies
The specialised training courses in companies focus on a specific manufacturing topic that is particularly relevant to the requesting company. They aim at presenting the theoretical basis of and, above all, the solutions to the main application issues.
The courses are jointly designed by the company and the A.I.TE.M. Academy. They can last 1 or more days and take place in a company location able to offer adequate facilities to host the event.
The courses are open to the hosting company personnel and any external persons invited by the company itself. By attending the course, participants will be able to gain in-depth knowledge of the specific topic and come closer to the Association, drawing inspiration for possible collaborations on key manufacturing topics.
The courses are also open to a limited number of PHD students and temporary research fellows.
Participation fees are agreed upon with the hosting company, as they depend on the specific design of the event as well as the number of participants.
