IN.BIO.SYS
INnovative BIOmedical Manufacturing SYStems
The Innovative Biomedical Manufacturing Systems section aim is the analysis and the promotion of technologies and production processes for biomedical applications that are not linked with the industrial field of interest in a convenient way. More precisely, the section will focus more on the techniques that can be used for the production and treatment of components for the Biomedical sector.

Mission
The IN.BIO.SYS section is committed to paving the way for the constitution of modern realities in which the research and the technology development are jointly balanced, ensuring a proper recognition of the biomedical devices specifically intended for patients, biologists, biotechnologists, doctors, lab technicians and researchers. The section will work to search for the best solutions to bridge the gap with the absence of reference standards regarding the sequence necessary for the production and final use of implantable devices and smart substrates. The main technologies monitored by the Section will be the sheet metal forming processes and the subtractive technologies, without neglecting the interest toward the more innovative ones as in the case of the bioprinting. The product/process innovation will be one of the key aspect of the Section especially considering the absence of a solid connection between the industrial realities and the effective end-users. As a consequence, the Section will work to identify the accessible and standardizable steps of the chain starting from the needs of the medical personnel and ends with the device production, passing through the multifunctional and topologically optimized design. The production process will be effectively managed to match the final application requirements and the needs of the industrial stakeholders. The section will therefore contribute to the definition of an innovation strategy covering not only the process but also the process in order to promote the technological transfer of the identified solutions.
- Definition of a common path for modern realities in which the research and the technology development can be effectively balanced
- Identification of an innovation strategy covering not only the product but also the production system
- Look at the product/process innovation as the key to link the industrial realities with the effective end-users
