Manufacturing Technology group of Palermo as part of the PO FESR Sicily 2014-2020-Action 1.1.5-“Support for the technological advancement of businesses” program has developed three industrial research projects:
- BioActiFix has developed and engineered an innovative manufacturing process, with AM technologies, for an angular stable internal osteosynthesis device (TRL 3 to TRL 7).
- Smart Chips where a machine has been created for the recycling of metal chips using Friction Stir Extrusion technology and the optimization of the process in terms of energy efficiency.
- SI-Mare addressed the design and production of composite and hybrid composite-metallic structures to be used for the construction of superstructures in cruise applications, with the possibility of increasing performance in terms of energy and environmental impact.
