The new ultrashort laser beamlines in the near IR, green and ultraviolet open the possibility to process the most part of materials used in industrial applications. The system is equipped with digital scanning heads, workpiece handling systems and deformable mirrors for dynamic beam shaping. Laboratory is moreover equipped with diagnostic systems and sensors for a complete characterization of the laser beam over the workpiece. All the systems are integrated thanks to in-house developed software.
The ongoing research activities are related to: laser texture of metallic alloys for biomedical applications, the prototyping of glass based microfluidic devices and the optimization of marking process.
