On 10th September, the AITEM 2024 Workshop “Innovation challenges and perspectives for manufacturing in Umbria” was held in the beautiful Rectorate building of the University of Perugia.
Organized by the Department of Engineering, the Workshop was opened by Ermanno Cardelli, Head of the Department, and Luca Settineri, President of AITEM. Two thematic speeches followed: Michele Fioroni, Regional Councillor for Economic development, innovation, digitalization and simplification, offered an overview of manufacturing in Umbria; Daniele Tonti, President of Umbria Aerospace Cluster and President of Young Entrepreneurs Confindustria Umbria, showed how the region is a fertile land for development and innovation within the aerospace and defence sector.
Interesting case studies on innovation challenges and perspectives were then illustrated by four prominent companies based in Umbria: Meccanotecnica Umbra, NCM, Officine Meccaniche Aeronautiche, and UmbraGroup.
As usual, other appointments took place around the Workshop: AITEM internal operational meetings, the Annual Members’ Assembly, and the annual AITEM Academy Basic Training Course. The activities of AITEM’s thematic groups “Sezioni” were presented during a special session.
